            Zero to first call in five minutes. This guide walks you through creating an account, funding your wallet, ordering a number, and receiving your first inbound call.
        

Overview

Cliqtel lets you buy phone numbers in 70+ countries and connect them to your PBX, softphone, or communication platform. Numbers activate instantly in most countries, and you pay only for what you use from a prepaid wallet.

This guide covers the basics. Once you have your first number working, you can explore SIP trunking, SMS, and API integration.

Step 1: Create Your Account

1Sign up at cliqtel.com

Go to cliqtel.com/register and create an account using your email address, or sign in with Google or Microsoft. No credit card is required to create an account.

Quick start: If you already have a Google or Microsoft account, use the social login buttons for one-click signup — no password to remember.

Step 2: Top Up Your Wallet

2Add funds to your wallet

Cliqtel uses a prepaid wallet. All number purchases and renewals are deducted from your wallet balance. To add funds:

Go to My Numbers → Wallet
Click Top Up
Enter an amount (minimum EUR 5.00)
Choose a payment method: credit card, iDEAL, Bancontact, or Klarna
Complete the payment — funds appear instantly

Payment methods: All payments are in EUR. iDEAL is available for Dutch bank accounts, Bancontact for Belgian, and Klarna for select EU countries. Card payments (Visa, Mastercard) work worldwide.

Step 3: Order Your First Number

3Find and buy a number

Click Buy Numbers in the navigation
Select a country and number type (local, national, mobile, or toll-free)
Browse the available numbers and add one to your cart
Review the monthly cost and click Checkout
The number is purchased from your wallet balance and activates immediately

Regulatory requirements: Some countries (such as Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands) require identity verification before a number can be activated. If your number requires documents, you will be guided through the verification process after checkout.

Step 4: Set Up Forwarding

4Connect the number to your phone system

Once your number is active, you need to tell Cliqtel where to send incoming calls. The most common option is a SIP trunk:

Go to My Numbers → SIP Trunks
Click Create Trunk and note the credentials (server, username, password)
Go to DID Routing and assign your new number to the trunk
Configure your PBX or softphone with the SIP credentials

SIP Configuration Summary

SIP Server:   sip.cliqtel.com
SIP Port:     5060 (UDP/TCP) or 5061 (TLS)
Username:     (from trunk creation)
Password:     (shown once at creation)
Codecs:       G.711 (PCMU/PCMA), G.729

Step 5: Make a Test Call

5Verify everything works

Pick up your mobile phone and dial your new Cliqtel number. If everything is configured correctly, your PBX or softphone should ring. Answer the call and confirm two-way audio.

It works! If the call connects and you hear audio in both directions, your setup is complete. If not, double-check your SIP credentials, firewall rules (UDP 5060, UDP 10000-20000 for RTP), and PBX registration status.
